We spent 4 days in Rome seeing the ruins of the forums, the Pantheon, Vatican museum, Trevia Fountain, Spanish Steps a set of catacombs and the Coliseum.
In our two days in Florence we saw the Duomo (very large cathedral), the Vecchio Bridge and the gardens of the estate of the Medici family.
Just an afternoon here. The tower leans.
The lunch on the way to Venice was the best meal we had.
We stayed close to St. Marks square where MM fed the pigeons. We traveled by the water busses. Saw the Rialto bridge and an international art show. We went to the islands of Murano and Burano, known for their glass and lace, respectively.
Stayed with friends in the Peace Corps in the costal city of Durres. Went to the national museum, some archeological sites and went inland to a mountain side town.
Traveled by ferry across the Adriatic to Bari. Took a train, then a bus across southern Italy to Naples. A very scenic trip.
Only one night. It was a great disappointment as the city is very dirty. The pizza and our hostel were great.
Spent the night in an awful hostel. We did go to the Villa Borghese Gallery, which is an excellent museum.
